The Game of Tag about your MAN

The Game of Tag about your MAN:

Recent photo of John taken by my mother

1. Who is your man? John

2. How long have you been together? 11 years this December, 4 years of that married

3. How long dated? We dated a little while I was in high school and met up again while we were in college together and didn't take long to know that we were supposed to be together.

4. How old is your man? 32

5. Who eats more? uh, well I AM eating for two right?

6. Who said "I love you" first? John and sadly I don't think I said it back the first time, I was just really scared in my defense

7. Who is taller? ha ha ha, who isn't taller than me?

8. Who sings better? neither of us

9. Who is smarter? I say we are both very smart in our own ways.

10. Whose temper is worse? My temper is short but his takes a while then watch out!

11. Who does the laundry? me...except when I have fallen down on the job and he needs fire department clothes for the next day

12. Who takes out the garbage? Me, unless I leave it on the front porch for him and usually it will sit there for a while.

Enjoying the Fall Evening Weather

Tonight we decided to take a evening walk since the evening weather is so nice. Katlynn rode her bike with her new ladybug helmet, Mom put on her maternity belly support belt, Dad brought us a jug of water, and we set off to walk to Pradon's to check out what's new with his animals.

First we came to the deer type animals and one was really interested in us. We made another stop at the Wallabies and had fun watching them groom themselves.

Finally we went around to the other side and watched the zebras for a really long time and all have the mosquito bites to prove it. There was a momma, daddy, and new little baby. They all came up to the fence and let us feed them grass. I felt so bad for the momma too, she looks like she is either expecting with another or is having a hard time dropping her "baby weight". The last picture is one that Katlynn took. These are another deer type animal but very friendly.

We all had fun and got in a little exercise too, which is something that this momma needs. So glad that the weather is cooling off. Happy fall ya'll!

Happy Harvest

Another good harvest, I got a little of everything today.
My first large tomato and I would have left it on there a little longer but Katlynn had other plans. I only have 2 other tomatoes total on that plant so the large tomatoes are a treat. My first red bell peppers look lovely, I can't wait to roast them. And of course plenty of cherry tomatoes and okra.
And all of this with no watering, thank God for the rain that he has been giving us lately.

First Baby Pictures

On Thursday, we went to get the baby's 20 week sonogram. The baby is doing well and growing like a weed. He/She weighs about 7 ounces now. Only 20 more weeks to go! (ha ha ha, ugh.)

What Flower are you?

I am a

What Flower
Are You?

"Mischief is your middle name, but your first is friend. You are quite the prankster that loves to make other people laugh."

I think that hits the nail on the head. Ha.

Kit's 3 year old Photos

Well, they are finally here! Katlynn's 3 year old photos and only a little late, ha. We went to our favorite photo place (since they do not copyright their photos) but they do not have one locally so we have to wait till we go out of town.

This time was the easiest by far. We were in there a total of maybe 10 minutes. I think Katlynn liked the posing they did. She keeps showing me how to cross your legs for pictures now.

I have some 5x7 printed out but will also be printing out some smaller ones. Please let me know which you would like and I will get them to you. Enjoy!

#2 #3
#4 #5

Sunday Chores

Here is the harvest that I collected today from my tomato plants, all 2 plants! For some reason this year, all my plants had a hard time, especially the tomatoes. I have heard other people around here say the same. But today, I collected quite a few. They are only cherry and pear tomatoes but those are my favorite anyway. Katlynn's too. In the past, we have made it to the house with an empty basket because we both ate all the tomatoes on the way back to the house.

Another thing we are working on today is the living room, the kitchen, the baby's room, and the master bathroom. Doesn't leave many rooms left, does it? In the kitchen, I am finishing up some painting on the cabinets and trim that were forgotten the first go 'round. In the living room, we have taken all the old wood paneling down and prepared it for our drywall guys to come in and texture it. They will be doing the same in the baby's room. John is currently working in the master bathroom. He is moving some plumbing lines around so we will be able to put the sinks where we want them. And some other things that have to be done before the drywall guys can start.

So basically, we are very busy today. But not any different from any other day around here.
I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday and taking it easy.

I wanna be a kid!

Katlynn, this morning while in bed, is talking about how old she is and how old her cousin Brooklyn is. I explain to her (the best I can) about ages and how she will always be older than Brooklyn. She says something about when Brooklyn is 3 and I tell her that she will be 5 when Brooklyn is 3. She ponders just for a second before yelling out, "I don't wanna be 5. I wanna be a kid!" I laughed and laughed and asked her that if being 5 automatically made her an adult. She reaffirmed with another yell that she still wants to be a kid.

Sound like anyone you know?.......(Audrey?)

August 27, 2007 First Day of School

Katlynn started her first day of school on August 27.

The first day of school she cried and mama cried (a lot!). But the teacher said she did good and wasn't upset too much during the school day. She was very happy when we picked her up and as a treat she got to choose any place that she wanted to for lunch. She picked Osaka, a Japanese steakhouse that cooks the food in front of you and might I say, quite expensive. But she had loads of fun, especially since her Aunt Audrey and Papa George got to go too.

The second, third, fourth, and fifth day of school gradually got better. On the third day, she was doing okay, I unbuckled her and one of the helpers reached in to get her. She cried out, "I don't want to go to school" and buckled herself back up. On the fourth, she brought a morning glory for her teacher and one for herself.

This week has gotten much better. On Monday, she said bye to me with no crying but only a little whimper. On Tuesday, she forgot to tell me bye!!! I almost cried. Wednesday, she said bye but it was a very strong, "I'll see you later, I'm going to have fun" bye. Today, as a treat, her dad took her to school but only if I was to pick her up.

I think.... I know we are both enjoying her going to school. She likes her teacher. She has made a friend, Emma and I am sure there are more but she talks about Emma most. And she sings songs all the time now. Yea'h for Katlynn!

Our 2007 Carnival Cruise aka The "SICK" Ship

Well, here are some of our photos from the cruise. There's not that many to post since most of them were us in bed, ha.

Our first stop was in Puerto Vallarta and we all were still feeling good then. We took the tequila factory excursion. We learned all about what it is made from and how they make it. John got lots of tastes at both places. Here is a photo of him and I that Katlynn took for us, pretty nice I would say.

Here is John and Katlynn at the second factory. This one was nice and sooo big.

And of course Katlynn found the factory dog.

The next stop was in Mazatlan and there weren't really any nice pictures there. That is where John started feeling sick and we were all burning up. Katlynn got so many spankings that day and even had to spend a little while in the corner once we got back on the ship.

The last stop was Cobo San Lucas and only John and Katlynn were able to go. It was really a beautiful place, at least from what I can see from the photos they took.

While there, Katlynn got to hold this iguana for a good while. She talked non-stop about it when she came back on the boat.

Well that is all I got. Not much to share but at least it is a post. Enjoy.

Katlynn's School Orientation

Today we had orientation at school for Katlynn. She got to meet her teacher, Mrs. Carta, see her classroom and find her chair, meet some of the other kids in her class, visit the gym where she will be dropped off in the mornings to wait for Mrs. Carta to pick up the class, and best of all she got to play on the playground! She took just a little time to warm up but before long she was starting to talk the teacher's ear off.

I know I can't wait till she starts school but I am no sure about her. She is ready but a little nervous. She starts Monday morning at 8:30, so if everyone would say a little prayer for her to be strong (and another little one that we will be there on time, ha).

eeeh gads, It sure has been a long time...

So sorry for the long (long, long, long) delay in posting. We've been just a little busy around here.
In a nutshell, since the birthday, we have:
- Found out we are expecting #2
- Been really really sick with #2
- Computer with all my photos crashed (and still is hopefully till my dear sweet sister comes home and can help me)
- Went on a Mexican cruise. All got a virus on the cruise. So, no, we did not have a good time.
- I spent a couple of days in the hospital after we got home because I was still sick and very dehydrated.

Now we are back, I hope. Pregnancy seems to be going okay. I have started showing much sooner with this one but do not have the appetite that I did when I was pregnant with Katlynn.

For the lack of pictures, (remember - computer with them is still down) I have saved this picture. While working, I often let Katlynn work in paint on the computer. One day, I was working and looked over and this is what she had created. I promise that I have not altered or touched it up at all!!! What a girl.

I hope to be posting more for you all soon.

Barnyard Birthday Bash

So this is way late and I am sure most of you have seen the other photos out there but here are ours anyway.

There was face painting (which was such a hit that there was a long line waiting), horse riding, pin the tail on the donkey, and look for the animal in the haystack game.

Then everyone came in for pizza and cake. I make the cake myself however I cannot take full credit, I got the idea of the internet. But I think it turned out great!

Once everyone was full, we worked it off a little wacking a pinata.

Now time to open presents. What chaos! If Katlynn did not thank you personally - we are doing so now, Thank you! Then a little time to play with some of the toys before everyone goes home.

That's all folks! We thank you all for coming and making Katlynn's 3rd birthday one to remember. She had a blast and we hope you all did too.

OAMC

While at my Grannie's house I always learn tons of stuff from her. The first thing I am trying since being back is OAMC (once a month cooking) but the smaller version. I made two entrees that will be 5 dinners for us. I made Spaghetti Casserole and Mexican Stuffed Shells. I have two more recipes that I am going to make up tomorrow. I am also going to try out "dump chicken". This is where you put some sort of marinade in with the chicken in a freezer bag and freeze it. When you are ready, just dump in a baking dish and cook. Sounds easy to me. I will let you guys know if anything turns out great enough to post about.

Two Things 6-17-07

Look up....

Look down...

Thank you Katlynn for your great pictures you took while at GG's. Mom finally got to participate in Two Things. ha.

Birthday FUN!

On Katlynn's actual birthday, we decided to let it be all about her.

First thing when she woke up we gave her special present, her very own desk. Now she can type dad's reports for him. ha. Then we went to Blue Bird Cafe for breakfast except they we no longer serving breakfast so we had to just do lunch instead. When we got home, she jumped on the trampoline for a very long time.

For dinner, we decided to go to IHOP and have those pancakes we were supposed to have for breakfast. Lastly a visit to Toys 'R' Us for more presents!

What a day, whew!
