Back in May, Katlynn and I found a baby hummingbird hanging out in our flower bed. Katlynn and I both had a wonderful experience watching him, you can hear her cooing in the background. I has taken me forever to upload the video of it but here it is (google video). Enjoy!

Milk and Cereal
The ones who started it all. Well I don't know if they started it but they did it about 5 years ago. Go grab a bowl of milk and cereal and enjoy!

Happiness is a butterfly (or a few hundred)
"Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursed, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you" Nathaniel Hawthorne Recently there have been tons of butterflies here. Last night on the news, our local hortoculturist explained that they are here because of last years high rain fall south of us. The most common one right now is the Snout butterfly. They have an elongated mouthpart used to look like a dead leaf stem for camouflage.
This photo was taken by me while we made a quick stop at a garage sale and the butterflies were swarming in this one particular tree. Every time a car would pass by they would get in a frenzy and start fluttering about. It was magical.
I love Gary the Snail
How appropriate is this, Gary the Snail is hanging out with Spongebob today cleaning up a little for me? In case of some of you haven't been force to watch hours of Spongebob, Gary is Spongebob's pet snail that "meows".

Ruidoso

We went to Ruidoso weekend before last. I had just rejoined Weight Watchers and you know how hard it is too stay on program when you are out of town, especially when everyone else is not on a diet and you found a great Mexican restaurant that we ate at twice in one day. So I tried to get a little exercise while I was there. One morning Katlynn and I walked downhill to this creek and then walked back uphill. Boy I was sweating after that. However in the end I still gained 2.2 pounds, Ugh!

Katlynn (and Momma's) Playroom

So we have finally finished the playroom, whew! We are still needing blinds but are having to buy them every time we go to a Wal-mart since they don't keep many of the size that we need in stock. And I am still needing to work on the ceiling. We are doing paper mache sun, moon, and stars and painting clouds. You know, in my spare time. ha. But Katlynn loves it and momma too. I put my sewing stuff in there and have recently put in my garage sale find, a elliptical trainer.
